The Gössl Lederhose — variants, colours and the care trick
Published in the Gwandhaus Journal, issue 30, spring 2020.
What sets the Gössl Lederhose apart

Chamois-tanned — the tanning tradition
IT IS MADE exclusively from chamois-tanned deerskin.
THE chamois tanning makes for a pleasant feel — velvety and soft to the touch.
Compared with chrome-tanned leather, it carries no health risks. Quite the opposite. Fine leather feels good on the skin. Pure nature, after all …
Traditionally made
Made in our own house in the traditional way, the Lederhose spends a good while in the workshop before it becomes its new owner's favourite.
For good things simply take time to be completed.
The perfect fit
FOR a perfect fit, you buy it as snug as possible.
THE more often it is worn, the softer and more supple the leather becomes. Until, in the end, it fits perfectly.
Well liked and a guarantee of reliability
THE LEDERHOSE is well liked and a guarantee of reliability.
This fine garment needs hardly any care, the best care is to wear it. Even grease stains are absorbed by the leather over time. They disappear by themselves.
The trick for mishaps
SHOULD a mishap really happen one day, the Lederhose can be cleaned with a trick, without any technical aids.
Gently rub leather against leather until the dirt finally comes away.
The four standard variants
The Gössl Lederhose. Fine, chamois-tanned deerskin. Richly embroidered, lightly embroidered or unembroidered, according to taste.
1. THE UNEMBROIDERED
Reduced to the essentials. Fine, chamois-tanned deerskin.
2. THE SALZBURGER
Discreet embroidery on the front flap and knife pocket.
3. THE AUSSEER
The classic. Hunting-themed relief embroidery on the leg, the front flap and the knife pocket.
4. THE 7-SEAM, THE MAGNIFICENT
3 decorative seams each to the left and right of the side seam:
- Running dog
- S-seam
- Double seam
All variants are available in the colours Birke (birch), Eiche (oak), Erle (alder) and Kastanie (chestnut).
The "slightly different" ones — three special variants
The brown trout Lederhose
A statement for adventurers. The trout's markings are applied to chamois-tanned deerskin. Two native wild animals come together in an original Gössl model.
The laser-engraved Lederhose
The courage to go deep: while conventional embroidery creates a raised effect, laser technology does the opposite.
THE pattern is burned in artfully and precisely. This creates the unique sense of depth.
The hemp Lederhose
The summer classic par excellence. On hot days, the Gössl Hanflederne is unbeatable.
